- Operate commercial washers, dryers, irons, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
- Sort soiled linens, towels, washcloths, sheets, pillowcases, and other hotel laundry according to type, color, and washing requirements.
- Wash, dry, fold, and organize all hotel linens while following proper chemical and equipment procedures.
- Inspect linens for stains, damage, excessive wear, or other quality concerns.
- Rewash stained or improperly cleaned items when necessary.
- Remove damaged or unacceptable linens from circulation and notify the Housekeeping Manager.
- Maintain adequate supplies of clean linen for housekeeping and other hotel departments.
- Deliver clean linens to designated storage areas and housekeeping closets.
- Keep the laundry room clean, organized, and free of clutter at all times.
- Clean lint traps, laundry equipment, floors, carts, shelves, and surrounding areas regularly.
- Follow all chemical handling, OSHA, safety, and hotel procedures.
- Report malfunctioning equipment, leaks, unusual noises, or safety concerns immediately.
- Monitor laundry supplies and notify management when inventory is running low.
- Assist the housekeeping team with linen distribution and other reasonable housekeeping duties as needed.
- Handle guest laundry requests when applicable.
- Maintain professional appearance and follow hotel grooming and uniform standards.
- Protect guest privacy and hotel property at all times.
- Complete assigned duties within established timeframes while maintaining high quality standards.
- Ensure linens are clean, fresh, stain-free, properly dried, and neatly folded.
- Maintain sufficient clean linen to support daily hotel operations.
- Prevent cross-contamination by following proper sorting and handling procedures.
- Keep the laundry area inspection-ready at all times.
- Follow Hampton Inn & Suites brand standards and hotel procedures.
- Work closely with the Housekeeping Manager and room attendants to support guest satisfaction.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull laundry bags, linen carts, and supplies.
- Ability to repeatedly bend, stoop, reach, and lift.
- Ability to lift approximately 30–50 pounds as required.
- Ability to work in a warm and humid laundry environment.
- Ability to safely operate commercial laundry equipment.
- Previous hotel, housekeeping, laundry, or related experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced hotel environment.
- Must maintain a positive and professional attitude toward guests and team members.
